  • 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon of chaat masala (available in Indian grocery stores)

  • ½ teaspoon of roasted cumin powder

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 tablespoon of sev (crunchy chickpea noodles) for garnish

  • Pomegranate seeds for garnish (optional)


Directions


  1. Prepare the Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked chickpeas, chopped onion, tomato, cucumber, green chilli, and boiled potato (if using). These fresh ingredients form the base of your salad, adding both colour and crunch.

  2. Season and Spice: Add the chaat masala, roasted cumin powder, and salt to the bowl. Toss the ingredients gently to ensure the spices coat everything evenly. The chaat masala brings a tangy, slightly spicy flavour that’s quintessential to this dish.
