Ingredients:

For the Steak:


  • 2 beef steaks (such as ribeye or sirloin), about 8 ounces each

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary or thyme (optional)

For the Potatoes:


  • 1 pound baby potatoes, halved or quartered

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)


Directions

  1. Season the steaks generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steaks to the skillet and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side until nicely browned.

  3. Add butter and minced garlic to the skillet. Spoon the melted butter over the steaks and let them cook for an additional minute. Optionally, add fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme for extra flavour.

  4. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast the steaks for 5-8 minutes for medium-rare, or longer according to your desired level of doneness.

  5. While the steaks are roasting, prepare the potatoes. In another skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the halved or quartered baby potatoes to the skillet.

  6. Season the potatoes with salt and black pepper to taste. Cook the potatoes, stirring occasionally, for about 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden brown and fork-tender.

  7. Add minced garlic to the skillet with the potatoes and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

  8. Once the steaks are cooked to your liking, remove the skillet from the oven and let the steaks rest for a few minutes.

  9. Serve the juicy beef steaks alongside the garlic-infused buttery sauce and the baby potatoes in a skillet. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired.
