  • 1 pound (450g) beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1-inch piece of ginger, minced

  • 1 cup snow peas, trimmed

  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced

  • 1 carrot, peeled and cut into thin strips

  • Cooked rice or noodles, for serving

  1. In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well to coat the beef evenly. Let it marinate for about 15-20 minutes.

  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Once hot, add the marinated beef slices in a single layer. Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

  4. Add the snow peas, bell pepper slices, and stripped carrot to the skillet. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

  5. Return the cooked beef slices to the skillet. Stir to combine with the vegetables.

  6. Cook for another minute until everything is heated through
